Dear Paul,

The Interlock Roofing System installed on our home has changed the entire look of the building.  It has made the house stand out from the other homes on the street.

I am happy to say that the new roof has met or surpassed all that we had hoped for.  Not only has it improved the look of the house, but, as you mentioned, it has lowered the temperature of the second floor during the hot summer months.  The snow catchers placed on the front porch look as decorative as well as functional.

It is comforting to know as I approach retirement age, that I will never have the expense of replacing the roof again, nor will I have to worry about leaks in the future.

I would also like to comment on the work team that did the installation.  I have never had a contractor come in and work as hard as they did.  They basically worked from dawn to dusk.  I was amazed that they were able to complete the job in about two and a half days, especially considering that they had to redo all the sheathing on our roof.

I thank you and your workers for a job well done.

Sincerely yours,
Harry Tirrell

Standing Seam Metal Roof that Generates Clean, Renewable Electric Energy

Finally, an affordable, best-of-breed solar standing seam roof system has arrived.

Architects and building owners challenged our industry with five key essentials for a successful solar roofing product.

• Photovoltaics that are integrated into the roofing panel (BIPV)
• A complete, standardized solar roof system that includes all schematics and specifications for all electrical components.
• Product delivery and installation from a reputable standing seam roof manufacturer.
ROI of 10 years or less.
• 20-year warranty

Interlock® Solar Roofing delivers all five key essentials and more.

Premium Building Integrated Photovoltaics

In manufacturing Interlock® Solar Roofing, thin-film solar laminates are fused to the surface of the roofing panel substrate. The panel/laminate bond that’s created has been tested and proven to withstand wind forces of 160 mph.

The flexibility and durability of these laminates make them ideal for metal roofs, where expansion, contraction and curving are considerations. Unlike polycrystalline photocells that are heavy and fragile, no roof penetrations and no additional structural support are required. In fact, you can walk on the laminates, which maintains the roof’s overall serviceability.

Solar Laminate

When it comes to generating electricity, compared to any other technology, Interlock® Solar Roofing's laminates, manufactured by United Solar Ovonics, achieve higher relative efficiency under high temperatures and low light.

Electric Is Included

When you specify Interlock® Solar Roofing you get the complete system. This includes all schematics and specifications for wiring and electrical components for an electrical subcontractor to implement. Upon commissioning of the system, your Interlock® Solar Roofing will begin generating clean, renewable electric power that’s sent directly into the power grid through the building’s electric meter.

A System Size for Any Budget or Requirement

No matter what your budget or your building’s requirement, Interlock Roofing Ltd. has a Interlock® Solar standing seam roof system for you, including 1.5, 3, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 and 120 kW systems.

1.  Why should I invest in an Interlock Roofing System?

Protection from wind, rain, fire, hail, snow and ice. The roof provides you with a long-term investment. Material and labour costs are constantly increasing and a initial outlay now for this outstanding roof will be a long-term investment and a hedge against inflation. Less expensive roofs have shorter life spans and will naturally have to be replaced often. All these factors increase the value of the home appreciably and offer added resale value.

2.  Can I walk on the Interlock Roofing System?

Yes, but once the roof is installed properly there should be no need to go onto the roof for maintenance. However, should the need arise, the roof system is walkable. We recommend, however, that soft-soled shoes be used and to avoid wet roof surfaces, and in any event professionals are recommended to do this when possible.

3.  Do I have to remove the present roof before the Interlock Roofing System is installed?

In many applications, the Interlock Roofing System can be installed directly over the old roof, saving money. Because there is no old roof to dispose of, there is less pressure on landfills, helping to protect the environment. In addition, much of the waste produced at the jobsite is recyclable, making this one of the most environmentally friendly roofing systems on the market today.

4.  How long will metal roofing last?

Because it is made of aluminum, which is a stable inorganic material, the roof is free from drying out, splitting, curling, peeling and flaking problems that plaque conventional roofing products. Aluminum roofing has been used in agricultural, industrial and residential applications for over 60 years.
